  • Allotments

    The Parish Council currently have a waiting list of interested parishoners but as yet no land has been identified.

  • Animal fouling

    A number of people are not clearing up after their dogs, or using the dog bins provided by the Parish Council. The Parish Office has a number of plastic bags for the purpose. Pick up one when the Office is open or face a penalty from the Enforcement Officer. If you would like to comment on this issue then please use our feedback form.

  • Cemeteries

    The Council holds responsibility for the Cemetery and the recently constructed Peace Garden. If you wish to reserve a plot in the Cemetery please contact the Clerk for further details. Plots are available to residents of Great Glen only. The Peace Garden has been constructed to provide a peaceful area where ashes of loved ones can be interred or scattered. There is a plan to have plaques to commemorate those who rest there. Please note that the Council does periodic safety checks on the memorials.

  • Council land & property

    The Parish Council does not own any land or property within the Parish.

  • Council offices

    Office opening 9.30am to 1.30pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Our clerk is in attendance at these office times. The Customer Service representative from Harborough District Council, will be in attendance on Tuesday mornings from 9.30am to 12.30pm

  • Crime prevention

    We are fortunate to live in a low crime area, however, we do receive regular crime updates from the local police liaison officer at Market Harborough and any items of local interest will be posted on this site within the news section.

  • Dog litter bins

    Dog litter bins are provided throughout the Parish. We would ask all parishioners to think of others and always clear up after their pet.

  • Footpaths (rights of way)

    There are rights of way (footpaths & bridleways) throughout the Parish. Leicestershire County Council are responsible for the maintenance of these paths and their signage. If you encounter a problem when out walking please let us know at the Parish Office and we will then inform the appropriate department at County Hall.

  • Planning applications

    The Parish Council consider all planning applications, and pass comments to the Planning Department at Harborough District Council. Plans are available to view at the Parish Office and now online at Planning applications . Members of the public are always welcome to Planning Meetings which are held on a regular basis and notice is given on all notice boards and at the Parish Office.

    Members of the public are always welcome to attend meetings of the Parish Council, which are held at the Parish Office. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month and the Agenda and date can be found on the notice boards in the Village and at the Parish Office.

    The Parish Council provide a number of seats at various locations throughout the village and the recreation ground. Please let us know if there are any problems with the seats.
